This case is concerned with the property owner wanting to clear land on his farm for food production – vegetables or crops and whether this is a “normal farm practice”

2012-05 Macpherson v. County of Huron
Issue: By-law – Tree- cutting

This case carried over from the previous fiscal year. A farmer sought relief from the board from a tree-cutting by-law in the County of Huron. The Board held a pre-hearing Conference, and has since heard two motions. A hearing date will be set after resolution of the motions.

    The Chair who is a lawyer is telling the two farmers on the Board what to do. Career farmers are not allowed as expert witnesses Justice delayed is justice denied. The Board has lost some documents which were submitted in 2013 Does not instill faith in the integrity of the process. Three more days of hearing to go Two OPP officers guard the door each day
