On March 23, 2010 Council of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood became the first member municipality of ORCA to pass the following motion in a 3 to 2 split.

That the Council of the Township of Asphodel-Norwood, being a member municipality of ORCA, call a meeting to dissolve the Conservation Authority as outlined in the Conservation Authority Act, section 13.1’

Recommendation was received from Peterborough County Landowners Association as a delegation on March 9th 2010 to the committee of the whole.

On behalf of the public and myself, I wish to thank the Council for their fortitude on this issue and for starting the ball rolling and look forward to having another member municipality consider our request to allow the public input into this wasteful and bureaucratic mess called Conservation Authorities.
