Michael Schmidt came to Ottawa to help Mark in Court. Mark was expected to plead guilty to the crime of killing a pig for his own consumption. Mark said no to pleading guilty. Michael told the justice of the peace that he was not a lawyer but a friend of Mark's and said he and Mark would need 8 weeks of time because it was Mark's wish to file a "Notice of Constitutional Question" and they would need that time to prepare the submission.

Next court appearance will be Sept. 16 to file the submission. The filing will be based on sections # 7 and # 8 of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms - # 7 right to life, liberty and security of person, # 8 right to be secure against unreasonable search ans seizure.
