MTO and the Flower Beds

On July 4th at 10 AM, John Schnurr will go to the Ontario Superior Court of Justice on 8th Street in Owen Sound. Mr. Schnurr is president of Duffy’s Farm Gate Market and Business Centre. The MTO wants the flower beds outside Duffy’s gone, saying they encroach on the right of way of Hwy 6. This appears to be another case of big government not using common sense to the detriment of business, jobs, and loss of revenue for the municipality.

According to the Owen Sound Times, early in August 2013, the MTO arrived at Duffy’s and began dismantling his flower beds which were reportedly six inches into the right of way.
