Published April 1, 2017

A member of Pierre Poilievre’s board of directors has initiated a petition to Parliament calling for full information on the proposed carbon tax. The petition, sponsored by Pierre Poilievre, MP, Carleton, can be found here The petition is open for signature until June 28, 2017.

Petition to the House of Commons

  • The Prime Minister promised during the election to reduce taxes for “the middle class and those working to join it”;
  • A carbon tax will cost the middle class and those working to join it;
  • Redacted documents demonstrate that the government has done analysis of how this carbon tax will impact Canadians’ budgets, including the price increases of home heating, gas, electricity, and grocery bills; and
  • Analysis conducted by the Canadian Taxpayers’ Federation says the carbon tax could cost $1028 per person per year, or $4112 per year for a family of four, and the government has not confirmed or denied whether this estimate is accurate.

We, the undersigned, citizens of Canada, call upon the Government of Canada to immediately, completely and fully release all estimates of cost burdens of the federally mandated carbon tax on Canadian families.

    Tired of the Liberals stealing and lying without remorse

    Sounds to me like their analysis and redaction of the documents
    are a way biding time to find out ways to juggle numbers to make the naive believe this is for the best…it isn’t. Numbers don’t lie, so I guess their only option is to avoid and deny….time for accountability.

    Since the government introduced Wind and Solar Power to Ontario, Hundreds of thousands of trees have indescrimately been plowed down to make room for the Wind and Solar Farms. Trees are known to eliminate at least 30 percent of the Carbon Gases produced by Automobiles, Industries etc. With the removal of all those trees, and many more to come, we are steadily losing one of natures most efficient ways of eleminating Carbon Gases. They have to stop the companies building these sites for electricity which is not needed, and will not be needed for many years to come!

    What is the Government Hiding?? Every time we turn around another level of Government has their hand out or imposes another degree of Legislative Over Reach.
